Roof restoration for Treasure Valley buildings
The Treasure Valley keeps building, but a lot of its commercial roofs, on warehouses and distribution centers along I-84, food processing and ag buildings, and retail centers in Boise, Meridian, and Nampa, are getting old. On low-slope roofs facing high-desert sun, a reflective restoration coating can be the best way to stop leaks and protect the roof.
Revive has done real coating work in Idaho, for Driscoll Potatoes in American Falls and for CHS on its grain silos in Grangeville. We're based in western Montana and travel for the right Idaho project. Owner Sam Hostetler has been in commercial roofing since 2009, and Revive is an Approved American WeatherStar Contractor.

For Boise roofs, the sun is usually the biggest enemy. Here's how we deal with it.
Roof coatings
Bright white silicone and acrylic coatings reflect much of the sun's heat off the roof and protect the surface underneath. We used spray-applied coatings on metal and low-slope roofs at Driscoll Potatoes in American Falls.
Spray foam roofing
Spray foam roofing adds a continuous layer of insulation with no seams, then gets a reflective coating. On a building that's hot in summer and heated in winter, it's worth comparing.
Restoration vs. replacement
If the roof is wet underneath or the deck is failing, coating over it is a waste of money. We'll tell you if replacement is the better choice.

High-desert sun and Boise winters
Boise gets long, hot, dry summers with a lot of strong sun. UV is what ages most low-slope roofs here: older membranes dry out, crack, and shrink at the seams. A reflective white coating protects the surface and keeps the roof cooler.
Winters bring cold snaps, valley inversions, and freeze-thaw cycles, plus the occasional heavy snow. Water that got into sun-cracked seams over the summer freezes and opens them further.
Boise's dry climate gives a long coating season, but coatings still need temperatures within the manufacturer's limits, so we schedule around summer heat waves and winter cold.
How a project works
- Free roof inspection. We walk the roof, check seams, flashing, drains, fasteners, and penetrations, and look for wet areas.
- A straight answer. Coat, repair, spray foam, or replace. If a coating isn't the right call, we'll tell you.
- Repairs first. Problem areas get fixed before any coating goes down.
- Seamless finish. The coating or foam system goes on over the whole roof, usually while your building stays open.

Have you worked in Idaho before?
Yes. We've done roof coating work for Driscoll Potatoes in American Falls and restored the concrete roof around the CHS grain silos in Grangeville.
Does a white roof coating help with summer heat?

Can you coat ag and food processing buildings?
Yes. Metal and low-slope roofs on ag and processing buildings are common candidates for coating, like our work at Driscoll Potatoes in American Falls.
